Michael Nelson Trout (born August 7, 1991) is an American professional baseball center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB).
A sore right wrist has kept Angels center fielder Mike Trout out of the starting lineup for a third straight game Saturday at Cleveland. Red Sox put Kinsler on DL with hamstring injury. X-rays and an MRI revealed only inflammation in Trout 's wrist , but the Angels are taking an extra-cautious approach
After holding center fielder Mike Trout out for several days with a wrist injury, the Los Angeles Angels have now placed the All-Star outfielder on the 10-day disabled list due to inflammation in his wrist.
While X-rays cleared his right wrist of any major damage, Trout was held out of the lineup throughout the week. The 27-year-old last played on Aug. 1 when he suffered the injury after sliding into third base.
Los Angeles was able to backdate the DL stint to Aug. 7, which would allow the team to bring him back sooner. However, the team could exercise extreme caution given they are out of the postseason chase and need to protect the game’s best player.
