The Blackhawks waived Glass on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Newcomer Anton Forsberg is locked in as Corey Crawford's backup, so this move was expected. Blackhawks ' Jeff Glass : Suffers fourth straight loss.

The Chicago Blackhawks placed goaltender Jeff Glass on waivers Friday, according to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun. The move comes after Glass , the current starting goalie for the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, signed a two-year NHL contract with the Blackhawks on Thursday.

The Chicago Blackhawks placed goaltender Jeff Glass on waivers Wednesday, per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman. The move suggests that the team plans to add some other goaltender to the active roster in order to replace him.

What’s unclear now is who that goaltender will be. Does this move indicate that Corey Crawford is actually ready to return far earlier than expected? Or, more likely, is the team ready to give Jean-Francois Berube a shot given the way Glass ha struggled in recent games?

NHL Mixed Bag: Are we in for a boring trade deadline stalemate?

NHL Mixed Bag: Are we in for a boring trade deadline stalemate? A logjam of “competitive” or “contending” teams combined with sky-high prices could result in very few trades on deadline day.The NHL trade deadline is exactly two weeks away.

The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned forward Kyle Baun and goaltender Jeff Glass to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs on Saturday. Both players went unclaimed after being placed on waivers Friday. Baun and Glass are no longer waiver -exempt

According to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN, Jeff Glass and Seth Helgeson have been placed on waivers today. Bryan Bickell, the only player on waivers yesterday has cleared. Glass was signed to a contract just yesterday by the Chicago Blackhawks

Given the limited practice that Crawford has participated in since returning from his injury, it seems hard to believe he’s already prepared for game action. Berube also recently returned from an injury to make 54 saves on 58 shots in a pair of games for Rockford, so all indications are that Berube will be recalled soon.

Other teams will have 24 hours in order to decide whether to make claims on Glass, who has posted a .898 save percentage in 14 appearances with the Blackhawks this season. Most likely, he’ll go unclaimed, at which point the team will reassign to the AHL, where he started this season.

The Glass story was really fun for a little while there given he’s a 32-year-old journeyman who didn’t get to make his NHL debut until this season. Players in the locker room clearly appreciated the tough road he took to Chicago and initially things were going pretty well. But now Glass has been exposed for what he is — it’s not a coincidence he wasn’t in the NHL until this year — and the Hawks are ready to try a new hand.

Jeff Daniels to Star in Aaron Sorkin’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ on Broadway

Jeff Daniels to Star in Aaron Sorkin’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ on Broadway Jeff Daniels will headline the cast of the upcoming Broadway adaptation of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” leading an ensemble that will also include Celia Keenan-Bolger, Will Pullen, Stark Sands, Gideon Glick, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Dakin Matthews and Frederick Weller, among others. Daniels will play principled lawyer Atticus Finch in Aaron Sorkin’s stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s 1960 novel, to be directed by Bartlett Sher.

Jeff Glass has been placed on waivers by the Chicago Blackhawks . He has a 3-6-3 record, 3.31 GAA, and .898 save percentage in 14 contests. The Blackhawks might call up J.F. Berube in place of Glass as Corey Crawford is still on the sidelines.

Febuary 24, 2017 : Chicago Blackhawks : Jeff Glass , placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

Berube, Glass, Anton Forsberg, whatever ... it won’t really matter in the end, though. The Blackhawks’ playoff odds are already minuscule and a lifeless offense has provided little goal support in recent games.

If anything, the Blackhawks should spend the next few months going back and forth between Forsberg and Berube to evaluate their prospects as backups for the 2018-19 season. One of them will likely be the No. 2 behind Crawford next fall, so using these next 25 games in a failed season to get a better handle on them would be a smart thing to do.

Coyotes hand Blackhawks sixth straight loss in 6-1 drubbing .
Joel Quenneville took an out-with-the-new, in-with-the-old approach to his lines for Monday's game against the Coyotes. But the result was the same old, same old for the Blackhawks , who fell 6-1 to the worst team in the NHL at Gila River Arena. It was the sixth loss in a row for the Hawks, who haven't fallen in succession that many times since dropping nine in a row in 2011-12. BOX SCORE: COYOTES 6, BLACKHAWKS 1Back on the top line for the Blackhawks was Brandon Saad, who has had a stop on every line recently to try to rid him of the struggles that prompted the moves in the first place.
