More than 300 women sued Michigan State for allegedly ignoring complaints about disgraced former doctor, Larry Nassar. He abused female gymnasts and other athletes for decades, and will be in prison the rest of his life. The details of the settlement are still being finalized, but Michigan State's trustees approved its basic terms on Wednesday. Some survivors feel vindicated by this settlement, but they also insist their fight for justice is far from over, reports CBS News' Dr.

This week, Michigan State University's interim president John Engler announced the school was returning to mediation with victims of Larry Nassar , saying "The university remains committed to reaching a fair settlement with all the survivors."

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University has reached a $500 million settlement with hundreds of women and girls who say they were sexually assaulted by sports doctor Larry Nassar in the worst sex-abuse case in sports history.

The deal was announced Wednesday by Michigan State and lawyers for 332 victims.

Nassar pleaded guilty to assaulting victims with his hands under the guise of treatment. He also possessed child pornography and is serving decades in prison.

He treated campus athletes and scores of young gymnasts at his Michigan State office. He had an international reputation while working at the same time for USA Gymnastics, which trains Olympians.

Olympic gold medalists Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas and McKayla Maroney say they were victims.

Suspected serial killer of young girls wants apology from police .
The convicted killer of a 13-year-old girl says in remarks published Monday that he deserves an apology from Michigan police who believe he killed four to six young girls who have been missing for decades. Arthur Ream told the Detroit Free Press in a jailhouse interview that he had nothing to do with their disappearances.Warren Police spent several days this month digging up a property where they  believed the girls may have been buried after Ream allegedly killed them, the paper reported. Nothing was found.
