Ten people have been shot, two fatally, in city attacks Saturday and early Sunday, including an 18-year-old man who was killed in a triple shooting on the Far South Side of Chicago.

The man was among three people shot around 12:35 a.m. Sunday in the 11700 block of South Sangamon Street in the West Pullman neighborhood, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, but was later pronounced dead.

A 19-year-old woman was shot in the hand and was taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition. A 23-year-old man walked into Roseland Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm and was transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

This is the third shooting at a middle or high school so far in 2018.

The shooting happened about 12:35 a.m. in the 11700 block of South Sangamon, Chicago Police said. A man was killed and two other people were wounded in a shooting early Sunday in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.

The three were standing in the sidewalk when they were hit by gunfire, according to police.

On Saturday around 10:30 a.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the chest in the 7700 block of South Yates Boulevard in the South Side's South Shore neighborhood.

The man, identified as Earl Smith, of the 7100 block of South Rhodes Avenue, was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, authorities said, but he was later pronounced dead.

Smith died at 12:34 p.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Police later said the shooter had been arrested.

In an earlier double shooting, two people were wounded about 12:20 p.m. Saturday on the city's Southeast Side's South Deering neighborhood, police said.

Police officers were called to the 10000 block of South Bensley Avenue where they found two men in their 20s had been shot.

  • A 23-year-old was shot once in the right thigh, officials said. About 3:15 p.m., a call came out for a shooting in the 100 block of West Garfield Boulevard in the Robert Taylor Homes neighborhood on the city's South Side. Officials transported the man to Stroger Hospital but his condition was not immediately available. Detectives are investigating, officials said.
  • Just before 3 p.m. a report came in of a shooting in the 9300 block of South Escanaba Avenue in Southeast Side's Calumet Heights neighborhood, police said. Officers investigated and determined the shooting didn't happen at that location, but they did find a 25-year-old who had been shot in the leg and the back. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
  • About 2:45 p.m., police said a man was taking out the garbage in an alley when an unknown offender opened fire on him, from a vehicle driving down the alley. The 26-year-old was in the 11300 block of South King Drive in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side when the gunman in the car began shooting at him, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in good condition, officials said.
  • About 1 p.m., an 18-year-old was shot in the 4100 block of West Washington Boulevard in the West Side's West Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. An unknown offender came up to the teen on foot and fired multiple shots, police said. The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, officials said.
